You write to us, a member of the family team replies, and we ask a few simple questions about dates, interests and pace. We then draft a route, adjust it with you, and confirm it. No payment is taken until your plan is confirmed, and someone from the team stays reachable during your trip.
Planning a trip to India can feel heavy when you do not know who is on the other end of an email. This page explains what happens when you contact us, in order, so you know what to expect before you write.
We are a family-run team in Agra, and we plan each journey by hand. We keep this guide general on purpose: no figures, no promises we cannot keep, only how the process works.
Step one: you write to us
You can reach us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp. You do not need a finished plan. A few lines is enough: when you are travelling, how many of you there are, and what you hope to see.
A member of the family team answers. You are not placed into a ticketing queue or handed to a call centre. If you have a question before you decide anything, ask it, and we will answer plainly.
It helps to mention how you like to travel. Some guests want every day full, and others want a slow morning and an early dinner. Neither is wrong, and knowing which you are lets us draft something close to right the first time.
If you are still choosing between cities or wondering how many days you need, say so. Part of our job at this stage is helping you decide.
Step two: what we ask you
We ask a small number of questions, mostly about practical matters. Your arrival and departure dates and airports. Who is travelling, including ages if children are coming. Your comfort with early starts, walking and heat. Your interests: history, photography, food, shopping, quiet time.
We also ask what kind of hotels you prefer, by category. We arrange five-star hotels or heritage palace properties, and we ask which sounds closer to what you want. If there is an occasion, such as an anniversary or a birthday, tell us, and we will discuss what can be arranged as we plan.
Tell us about anything that matters: dietary needs, mobility, nervousness about traffic. The more honestly you answer, the more suitable the plan.
Step three: we shape the route
This is where local knowledge matters. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so we build the order of cities around that, rather than discovering it late. Sunrise visits are planned with the season in mind, and we are honest that fog in December and January can flatten the view.
We think about driving distances between cities, which are long on Indian roads, and place the longer drives on days with fewer sights. We consider when each monument is at its best, when it is likely to be crowded, and where a rest afternoon will help.
Flights between cities are not included in our journeys. If your route involves a flight, for example to Udaipur or Varanasi, we plan around it and advise on timing, and you book the ticket yourself.
Step four: you see a draft and change it
We send a draft itinerary showing the day-by-day shape: where you sleep, what you see, how long you drive. You read it, tell us what you like and what feels too much, and we adjust. This usually takes a few exchanges.
We also point out where a plan may be too ambitious. If a day looks tight on the road, we say so and suggest an alternative, rather than letting you find out on the day.
Do not worry about sounding fussy. Moving a visit, adding a free afternoon or swapping a hotel category is ordinary work for us. A plan that you read twice and feel comfortable about is the goal.
We explain what is included and what is not, in plain terms, so there are no surprises later. Rates are provided on request as part of your plan.
Step five: confirmation and payment
Once you are happy, you confirm the plan. No payment is taken until your plan is confirmed, and we explain clearly how and when payment is made at that point.
After confirmation we arrange the practical parts: hotels by category, your car and driver, licensed guides in each city and the entry tickets for the monuments, so that you are not queuing for them on the day. Visa and flights remain your own responsibility, and we are happy to answer general questions about them.
If anything in your plans changes after confirmation, such as a delayed flight or a new date, tell us as early as you can and we will work out what is possible and explain it clearly.
You will receive a final itinerary with names and contact details for the people meeting you, so you know who to look for.
Step six: arrival and the days themselves
On arrival you are met and driven to your hotel. Your driver stays with you through the journey, and in each city a licensed guide joins you for the sightseeing.
Before you fly, we are glad to answer practical questions about what to pack, how to dress at the monuments and what the weather is likely to do. Small details like these make the first day easier.
We stay in touch while you travel. If a monument has an unexpected closure, or you feel tired and want to change a morning, you tell us or your driver and we adjust. Private travel allows this flexibility, and it is the main reason people choose it.
At the end of the trip, your driver takes you to the airport or station for departure. We would be glad to hear how it went, including anything that could have been better.
What we do not do
Every journey is built around the people travelling, so two plans for the same cities can look quite different. A couple, a family with children and a solo traveller will each want a different pace, and the draft reflects that.
We do not push a fixed package. We do not promise extras we have not confirmed. We do not guarantee sights that depend on nature, such as tigers in a park. We do not take payment before the plan is confirmed.
If something you ask for is not possible or not wise at a particular time of year, we say so. We would rather give you an honest answer than a pleasant one that falls apart later.
