Six days that add a full day in Jaipur and a proper evening in Delhi. You arrive, see Delhi unhurried, drive to Agra and combine the Taj at sunrise with the road to Jaipur, then have a whole day among the palaces before returning. It suits travellers who want comfortable pacing without a very long trip.

Day by day
How the days go
Day1
Arrive in Delhi
Your driver meets you at the arrivals hall holding a name board and takes you to the hotel.
Most flights land at night or early morning, so there is no fixed programme on this day.
If you arrive in the morning, you can rest and then take a short drive to see Lodhi Gardens, a park of fifteenth century tombs where Delhi residents walk in the evening.
This is a good place to stretch your legs after a flight.
Dinner can be at the hotel or at a restaurant the guide recommends nearby.
Use the evening to adjust, drink water and sleep, because the next day has a full programme.
If you land late, simply go to sleep and we begin after a slow breakfast.
Tell us your flight number when we plan so the driver can track it.
Day2
Delhi, old and new
Your guide joins after breakfast and the day opens at Humayun's Tomb, a quiet garden tomb that inspired the Taj.
The car then drives through Lutyens Delhi, past India Gate and the Parliament area, to Qutub Minar, the tall red sandstone tower surrounded by ruins.
After lunch you cross into Old Delhi.
The Red Fort is a short stop from the outside or inside depending on the day, since it is closed on Mondays.
A walk takes you through Chandni Chowk, a dense market of silver, spices and sweets, ending at the Jama Masjid.
Cover shoulders and knees for the mosque.
By late afternoon the car brings you back to the hotel for an early dinner before the road trip begins.
Day3
Delhi to Agra
Drive: roughly three to four hours
After breakfast you leave Delhi on the Yamuna Expressway for Agra, roughly three to four hours away.
A coffee stop at the midpoint helps break the road.
You reach Agra around lunchtime, check in and rest.
In the afternoon your guide takes you to Agra Fort, then on to Itimad-ud-Daulah, the small marble tomb on the Yamuna with delicate inlay.
The day ends at Mehtab Bagh if the sky is clear, where you see the Taj across the river as the light turns gold.
Dinner is at the hotel.
Go to bed early, because tomorrow starts before sunrise.
If you need a quiet evening instead of Mehtab Bagh, the guide will drop you at the hotel after Itimad-ud-Daulah.
Day4
Taj Mahal sunrise, then Jaipur
Drive: roughly five hours
Leave the hotel before dawn to reach the Taj when it opens.
Your guide shows you the gateway, the long pool and the platform, and gives you time to walk the interior on your own pace.
The marble changes colour from grey to pink and finally to white.
Plan about two hours.
After breakfast and check-out, the drive to Jaipur begins, roughly five hours with stops.
The main stop is Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar's red sandstone city, where you spend about ninety minutes with the guide.
Lunch is on the road.
If time allows, the driver can stop at Abhaneri's stepwell, a deep geometric well worth ten minutes.
You arrive in Jaipur by late afternoon.
The Taj is closed on Fridays, so we plan the dates around that.
Day5
Jaipur
This is your full day in the Pink City.
Your guide meets you early for Amber Fort, riding or walking up to the Sun Gate, and exploring the Sheesh Mahal and the terraces over Maota Lake.
On the way back, the car stops at Jal Mahal for a photo.
Late morning is the City Palace, a working royal residence with museum rooms and courtyards, and the Jantar Mantar next door, where giant stone instruments read time and the stars.
Lunch is a long, easy stop.
In the afternoon you can walk the bazaars near Johari Bazaar, or visit a block printing workshop if you wish, which can be discussed when we plan.
Finish with the Hawa Mahal from the street at golden hour, then dinner.
Day6
Back to Delhi and departure
After breakfast you leave Jaipur for Delhi, roughly five to six hours depending on traffic.
A coffee stop around the halfway point is worthwhile.
If you have time in the morning, a short walk or a last bazaar stop is possible before leaving.
Your driver takes you to the airport or onward train, or to a Delhi hotel if you stay another night.
Please tell us your flight time when we plan so the driver can set a safe departure from Jaipur, usually with a generous buffer for traffic at the city edge.
Keep water and a light snack in the car, and let the driver know if you want a rest stop.
We say goodbye at the terminal.
Note. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays, so the order of days may shift. December and January fog can flatten a sunrise.
Practical
Good to know
The first day is intentionally light so a long flight does not eat into the plan.
The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays and Red Fort on Mondays; we reorder the days around your dates.
The sunrise visit means a start around four or five in the morning on day four.
Evening flights suit day six better than early morning departures.

Questions
Good to know
Why does this plan include an arrival day?
Many international flights land at night or early morning, so a light first day avoids sightseeing when you are tired. It also means the Delhi sightseeing day starts on time with a rested group.
Is the Taj visit on sunrise guaranteed to be clear?
No. In December and January fog can flatten the sunrise, and it can lift only by mid morning. We keep the morning flexible so you still see the Taj in good light.
How busy is Jaipur on the full day?
It is a full but easy day, with Amber Fort first and the city sights in the late morning. The afternoon is open, so you can rest or walk the bazaars at your own pace.
Can we add another city after Jaipur?
Yes. Udaipur, Jodhpur or Ranthambore can be added by road or with an internal flight, and flights are not included. We plan this with you before confirming.
